On Wednesday, August 30, Shokir Khalikov’s film “Sunday” was screened. This Uzbek filmmaker’s work looks at the connection between modern and traditional practices, and the movie tells the true story of an elderly couple living in a rural village with two sons. The eldest lives near his parents, while the youngest works away from home. It is worth noting that Khalikov’s films have won awards at several international film festivals.
“Floating Cinema – Unknown Waters” is a cultural event that occurs on a floating platform in the Venice Lagoon at the same time as the Venice Film Festival. The show was sponsored by the Art and Culture Development Foundation, under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
