SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) — The amount of South Korean publicly listed businesses that merged with or acquired other entities decreased year-on-year during the first half of 2023, data showed Friday.
A total of 47 South Korean companies either concluded or are in the process of corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&As) over the first six months of the year, representing a 7.8 percent decrease from the same period in the previous year, according to the Korea Securities Depository.
Of those, 14 are listed on the main KOSPI stock exchange and the remainder on the secondary KOSDAQ, the data showed.
