The International Institute for Central Asia and the Center for International Relations Analysis of Azerbaijan held an event with more than 30 experts and political scientists from the two countries, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and deputies of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan. Farid Shafiyev, the Chairman of the Center for International Relations Analysis, praised the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and pointed out the “good foundation” established during the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Tashkent last year.
The Head of the IICA Department Sh. Fayziyev emphasized that the partnership between the two nations is consistently growing due to the historic visit of the Head of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan and his talks with Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was further solidified by the Declaration on Deepening Strategic Partnership and Increasing Comprehensive Cooperation signed by the Presidents.
Azerbaijan’s specialists highly commended the state of bilateral relations and the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan, which is aimed at establishing a strong civil society and modernizing the economy. They expressed a great interest in cooperation in areas such as transport, industrial cooperation, energy, textiles, mining and chemical industries, and electrical engineering.
A Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Center for International Relations Analysis of Azerbaijan and the International Institute for Central Asia, with the intention of giving the collaboration between the two organizations a systematic character. Joint roundtable discussions, workshops, conferences, and scientific research are planned to be held in the future.
