As part of the autumn season of the Nationwide Project “Yashil Makon” (“Green Space”), two hundred fruit tree seedlings were planted in the garden of the Uzbekistan National News Agency, which was created on the territory of the remote mahalla “Nakurt” of Payariq district in Samarkand region. Established in 2021, the garden was a result of the collaboration between the Payariq District Hokimiyat and UzA. According to the gardener Farkhod Dehkonov, over two thousand trees have been planted and grown in the garden in the span of three years. The soil in the area is hilly, and water for irrigation is taken from an artesian well. Despite the challenges, the seedlings have been properly hydrated and have taken root.
In addition to the existing trees, almonds and apricots have been planted on the remaining eighty acres of land with the assistance of the Hokimiyat, and UzA employees and activists of the “Nakurt” mahalla have taken part in the planting. The Hokim of Payariq district, Isroil Jabborov, stated that for the current autumn season, 556 thousand seedlings of fruit and ornamental trees are planned to be planted in the district. Wild roses have been planted along the roadsides in “Nakurt” mahalla to create a green belt, and the UzA garden in the village is expected to become one of the most beautiful gardens in the district.
