Tashkent was the venue for the “Day of the German Economy in Uzbekistan” conference. More than 300 people from the business sectors of both countries, including investors, heads of ministries, and experts, took part in the event.

Farkhod Nurmuhammedov, Deputy Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association, reported that talks were held with German businesses, and several agreements were made on various projects, particularly in the leather industry. This could lead to the export of high-quality leather and footwear products to the European Union and other countries, by involving large German shoe brands.

At present, 219 enterprises in Uzbekistan have German investments. The conference’s agenda also included discussions on the German dual education system in Uzbekistan, and opportunities for collaboration in energy sector development between the two countries.
