On Monday, E-Mart Inc. revealed that its net loss for the second quarter was 103.2 billion won (US$77.4 million), continuing to be in the red in comparison to the same period last year.
The company’s filing also showed that its operating loss for the April-June period was 53 billion won, a jump from the 12.3 billion won loss a year ago. Revenue for the quarter increased by 1.7 percent to 7.27 trillion won.
The operating loss was 158.5 percent higher than the average forecast based on a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
