Documentary Film on Life and Work of Frunzik Mkrtchyan to be Produced in Uzbekistan

As part of the Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”, Georgian producer and film director David Bezhitashvili announced a documentary film project “Uzbekistan Remembers Me” dedicated to the life and work of the famous Armenian film actor Frunzik Mkrtchyan (1930-1993).

Mkrtchyan starred in the films of Uzbek and Indian filmmakers “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” (1979), “The Legend of Love” (1984). During his stay in Uzbekistan, he interacted with many local filmmakers.

In 2021, Bezhitashvili directed the film “India Remembers Me,” which tells about the filming of Indian movies with the participation of Frunzik Mkrtchyan. The upcoming documentary will be a continuation of this project and will focus on the events that occurred in Uzbekistan.

Famous Uzbekistan artists shared their memories of the exciting experiences they had while working with Mkrtchyan.

Currently, preparations for the filming of the project have begun and the film is expected to be released in 2024.
