The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chinese company BYD have come together to build a factory for electric and hybrid cars. This will be BYD’s first manufacturing facility outside of China and will be a milestone in the Uzbek automotive industry. The projected production numbers for the first two stages will be 50,000 and 300,000 respectively, and the venture is a testament to the Republic of Uzbekistan’s investment appeal.
