A Training Center Established in Uzbekistan to Enhance Skills in Textile, Clothing and Leather Industries

Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association recently held a press conference to announce the launch of a joint project between the Association and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) called “Supporting the reforms and modernization of the vocational education system of Uzbekistan – TexVET”. Representatives of the Textile and Garment Industry, Uzcharmsanoat associations, and the German Embassy in Uzbekistan and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) were present at the event.

First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association Mirmukhsin Sultonov said that the training center was established with the help of the German Embassy in Uzbekistan and the German Society for International Cooperation and that the purpose of the center is to improve professional skills in the textile, clothing, and leather industries.

Dr. Michael Wimmer from the German Embassy in Uzbekistan commented that Germany is a dependable partner of Uzbekistan in the development of the textile industry and that various programs for the advancement of vocational education are being implemented in Uzbekistan. He added that the project includes activities to enhance the abilities of workers in the textile and leather industry, which will be conducted in collaboration with associations.
