A videoconference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Bukhara announced the commencement of a large-scale program for introducing renewable energy sources. Since the start of the year, 430 megawatts of renewable energy have been implemented, leading to the production of 1.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, which accounts for 60 percent of the annual consumption of social facilities. Currently, 250 megawatts of solar panels have been installed in residential buildings, social facilities, and businesses. The greatest progress has been made in Jizzakh, Samarkand, Kashkadarya, Syrdarya, and Fergana. In Urtachirchiq district, 5 percent of the population has solar panels, 10 percent in Buka district, and 15 percent in Bozatau and Pskent districts. In Nurata and Yangikhayot districts, the number is 20 percent. The repair of networks and transformers, scheduled for 2023, has been ordered to be completed by August 1. However, 1,100 kilometers of networks and 402 transformers still need to be reconstructed in the regions. UzA
