286 individuals granted amnesty by President Mirziyoyev

On the eve of the 32nd Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued a Decree granting amnesty to a group of individuals serving a sentence in the form of deprivation of liberty. This Decree pardoned 286 citizens who had sincerely repented for their actions and were committed to correcting their behavior.

Out of the 286 citizens, 109 were completely released from their sentence, 116 were released on parole, and 25 had their punishment substituted with a milder one. Additionally, 36 persons had their prison terms reduced. Among those pardoned, there were 30 foreign citizens, 39 women, 22 men over 60 years old, and 3 persons who had been involved in activities of prohibited organizations.

The Decree also instructed responsible ministries and agencies to help the pardoned persons return to their families and relatives, aid them in social adaptation, finding employment, and leading a healthy lifestyle.
