The Ministry of Transport has reported a significant increase in the number of cars in Tajikistan in recent years.
According to the ministry, as of March 1, 2024, there were 666,074 registered vehicles in Tajikistan, including cars, trucks, and passengers. This is a notable increase from the previous year’s figure of 601,136.
The ministry also stated that currently, there are 562,000 cars registered with the traffic police. As of March 1, 2023, there were 51,781 trucks, 16,491 passenger cars, 524,045 passenger vehicles, and 4,419 trailers and semi-trailers registered in the country.
It is important to note that the import of vehicles manufactured before 2013 is prohibited in Tajikistan, as stated in the Governmental Decree dated August 2, 2023.
