Malaysia was the host country for the 10th Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad, which saw the participation of 1,800 schoolchildren from 23 different countries. Uzbekistan had over 1,000 schoolchildren taking part in the national qualifying round, with 60 of them advancing to the international stage and achieving impressive results. Among them, Ibratbek Satimbayev, an 8th grader from the Presidential School in Khiva, won a gold medal, while Solikhabonu Shaydullayeva, Samariddin Azzamkulov, Bunyod Iskandarov received silver medals. Mokhinur Safarova, Javlon Khasanov, Afzalbek Jurayev, Murod Choriyev, Akobir Ergashev, Yahyobek Sattarov, Mustafo Amirov, Jamshidbek Kholboyev, Iftikhor Rasuljonov and Alikhon Rakhmatov were awarded bronze medals.
