The Uzbekistan – Iran Business Forum was held in Tashkent as part of the visit of business representatives, led by the President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh, to Uzbekistan. The event, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Uzbekistan Embassy in Tehran, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tashkent City Hokimiyat, and the Iranian side, was attended by various officials and over 200 representatives from the business communities of both countries. Discussions were held on potential projects in various industries such as innovation, agriculture, water management, food, fish farming, building materials, medicine, pharmaceuticals, textiles, logistics, and engineering. The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhobov, expressed confidence that the forum would further strengthen trade and economic relations between the two countries and encouraged business representatives to take advantage of the opportunities and participate in B2B meetings. The forum also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between business communities in order to increase investment, trade, and economic cooperation. Samad Hassanzadeh acknowledged the successful cooperation between entrepreneurs of both countries, thanks to the wise policies and high-level visits of their leaders. He also highlighted the close relationship between Uzbekistan and Iran, which extends beyond economic and cultural partnerships to a shared history and culture. The forum also highlighted the significant increase in mutual trade volumes, with 268 Iranian enterprises currently operating in Uzbekistan. A presentation on Uzbekistan’s investment potential and projects in priority sectors was also held, followed by B2B meetings between Iranian and Uzbek business representatives.
