The Uzbekistan – China Agri-Food Business Forum was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China. Around 80 entrepreneurs participated in the event.
The economic reforms in Uzbekistan were highly appreciated by Chinese businesspeople.
An agreement was reached at the forum to jointly implement developments in various areas such as seed production, animal husbandry, water-saving technologies, product processing, land restoration, and projects related to fruit trees, greenhouses, vaccines for animal diseases, mushroom cultivation, agro logistic centers, innovative laboratories, smart management systems for gardens and vineyards, increased melon yield, and the cultivation of new generation cereals and legumes.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported a 40% increase in trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China in recent years, a 5-fold increase in investment projects, and a 3-fold increase in Uzbekistan – Chinese joint ventures.
Within the framework of the forum, meetings were held with 34 partner organizations to discuss the development of agricultural sciences. Agreements were signed to introduce China’s agricultural achievements, particularly in food safety and technologies for increasing yields, to Uzbekistan.
