The two countries have signed a Joint Communiqué in New York to establish diplomatic relations.
The Permanent Representatives of Uzbekistan and Nauru to the United Nations, Ulugbek Lapasov and Lara Erab Daniel respectively, signed the document on behalf of their governments.
Both parties have expressed their commitment to strengthen cooperation within international organizations such as the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
They also agreed to increase bilateral communication in order to identify mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in the political, trade, economic, and cultural sectors.
