Uzbekistan and Sweden discuss geopolitical shifts in Central Asia

A seminar titled “Geopolitical Changes and Multi-Vector Diplomacy in Central Asia” was organized by the Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES) at Södertörn University (Sweden). The meeting was attended by Nodir Ganiyev, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Sweden, and Akrom Umarov, the First Vice-Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The discussion was also attended by representatives from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Uppsala University, Texas A&M University (United States), the University of Glasgow, and other European experts. The Uzbek participants highlighted key points from the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, foreign policy priorities, and the country’s relations with other Central Asian nations.

The participants engaged in a dialogue about the foreign policies of the region’s countries in the midst of a complex geopolitical landscape.
