Uzbek Cinema Days are currently taking place in Astana. During the event, a screening of the feature film Abdulla Oripov, directed by Muzaffarkhon Erkinov, was shown. The film was commissioned by the Cinematography Agency.
A meeting was also held with the participation of Otabek Jurayev, Chief Specialist of the Cinematography Coordination Department of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, Furkat Usmanov, Director of the Cinematography Development Center, Sayyora Khudoyberdiyeva, Head of the International Relations Department of the Cinematography Development Center, film actor and director Samidkhon Lutfullayev, and Kurmanbek Zhumagali, Chairman of the State Center for Support of National Cinema of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the Cinematography Agency discussed the project for a new feature film, “Al Farabi”, which will be a collaborative effort between filmmakers from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The Uzbekistan delegation also extended an invitation to Kazakh filmmakers to attend the 16th Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”, which will take place in September. An agreement was also made to collaborate in all areas.
