The second day of the President of Uzbekistan’s visit to Navoi region began with a joyful event. Representatives of the public participated in a ceremony dedicated to new projects.
Entrepreneurship in Navoi region has been thriving in recent years, with increasing interest from investors. In 2023, the region produced over 101 trillion UZS worth of industrial products and exported $648 million. It also received foreign investments of approximately $478 million and had a foreign trade turnover of $1.3 billion. Currently, there are more than 300 foreign enterprises operating in the region, and this number is expected to grow.
During the ceremony, 15 new projects were announced.
These projects include the extraction and processing of oil shale in Kanimekh district, the construction of a 300-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant and a 75-megawatt electricity storage system in Karmana district, the production of industrial gases in Navoi city, the processing of marble in Gazgan and granite in Zarafshan, the extraction and enrichment of kaolin in Uchkuduk district, and the production of fish feed in Khatirchi district.
Other projects include the production of potassium sulfate and sulfuric acid in Karmana district, cotton cellulose in Navoi city, and granite processing in Nurata district.
The total cost of these 15 projects is $3.6 billion, and they are expected to create over 7,000 jobs. During the ceremony, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev officially initiated the construction and operation of these new projects by pressing a symbolic button.
