The Uzbekistan – Japan Forum, organized by the Ministry of Digital Technologies, focused on enhancing collaboration in the field of information technology.

The forum brought together prominent figures in the IT industry, investors, and experts from both Uzbekistan and Japan. The main topic of discussion was the attraction of investments in the rapidly expanding digital sector.

Sakurai Akihiro, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies, emphasized the potential for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the IT field.

It was highlighted that in 2023, only one Japanese company was present in the IT Park, but by the end of 2024, there were 10, with three engaged in exporting IT services. The forum also included B2B meetings and networking sessions between Japanese and Uzbek IT companies.

The forum showcased the mutual interest of Uzbekistan and Japan in strengthening collaboration in information technology and creating new opportunities for joint projects and investments.

As a result of the forum, three additional Japanese companies expressed interest in establishing offices in Uzbekistan.
