On July 30th of this year, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS) and the National Institute of Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISI) signed a Memorandum to establish the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Expert Council. This Council will serve as a crucial mechanism for providing expert support in implementing the agreements made during the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Summit held on July 18-19, 2019. The main purpose of the Council is to regularize and enhance the expert dialogue between the two countries by involving specialized experts and specialists.

Under this mechanism, particular attention will be given to analyzing the state and finding new areas for growth in trade and economic, industrial and technological, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation. Additionally, the experts will focus on promoting the initiatives of the two heads of state, such as the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and cooperation in water and energy, specifically the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1, which will have a positive impact on the development of the economies of all countries in the region.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was made to develop a Roadmap by the end of 2024. This Roadmap includes joint conferences, workshops, roundtable discussions, and research on mutual interest topics.
