The Renewed Constitution – Basis for the Development of Innovations

Tashkent was the location for a roundtable discussion titled “The Renewed Constitution of Uzbekistan – Basis for the Development of Innovations and Information Technologies”. The event was organized by the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on Innovative Development and Information Technologies in collaboration with the Innovative Development Agency. It was attended by high-ranking officials from state and public organizations, scientists, IT specialists, international experts, and media personnel.

During the event, it was highlighted that the principles outlined in the Renewed Constitution have played a crucial role in the ongoing reforms in various sectors, including information technology and innovation. This has also laid the legal foundation for the transition to a digital economy and infrastructure, with approximately 50 relevant legislative documents being adopted in a short period of time.
The President’s speeches at the meetings of the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis emphasized the significance of the Renewed Constitution, particularly Article 33 which guarantees the right to seek, receive, and disseminate information, and the state’s responsibility to provide access to the internet.
The event, which had the theme “My Constitution is 32 years old!”, focused on initiatives aimed at uniting citizens around the values of people’s power, human dignity, freedom, equality, and social justice.
