The President of Uzbekistan participated in a joint meeting with German business leaders

As part of his visit to Astana, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, joined a joint meeting between the leaders of Central Asian countries and top German companies and banks. The event was also attended by German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as well as the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

The meeting included representatives from leading German companies and banks such as KNAUF, Gunter Papenburg, CLAAS, Siemens Energy, Aurubis, Ernst Klett, Siemens Healthineers, Herrenknecht, DB Engineering & Consulting, Svevind Energy, Rhenus, and HMS Bergbau. In his welcoming remarks, the President of Uzbekistan expressed his satisfaction with the successful outcomes of the previous day’s meeting with the German business community in Samarkand.

He noted the increasing interest in cooperation and joint projects between Uzbekistan and Germany, based on German best practices and innovative technologies. The President also emphasized the importance of expanding business partnerships within the region, which has shown strong economic growth and improved trade, investment, and transportation due to open borders and favorable conditions.

To further strengthen cooperation, the President proposed the establishment of a permanent platform for dialogue between investors and entrepreneurs from Central Asia and Germany, with the first meeting to be held at the Tashkent Investment Forum next spring. He also suggested preparing a roadmap for expanding investment and technological cooperation, including mechanisms for state support and financial assistance for German companies operating in Central Asia.

The President highlighted the successful joint projects and invited German companies to participate in regional cooperation on mutually beneficial terms. He expressed confidence that ongoing dialogue with top German companies and banks will lead to further opportunities for multilateral cooperation.
