The President of Uzbekistan discusses the implementation of major energy projects with the UAE

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with a delegation from the United Arab Emirates, led by Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, as part of his business program during his visit. The meeting was also attended by representatives from Masdar, TAQA, and Etihad Water & Electricity. These companies are leaders in the energy and water supply industries. Discussions focused on investment projects in Uzbekistan, particularly in the areas of green energy, modernization of public utilities, and improving drinking water supply. The President expressed satisfaction with the strong cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector, with joint projects worth $1.5 billion already in progress. Plans to expand existing thermal power plants, modernize power grids, and construct new hydroelectric, solar, and wind power plants were also supported. In addition, opportunities for developing water supply networks and treatment facilities through public-private partnerships were noted.
