The President of Uzbekistan chairs an extended Security Council meeting

On January 12, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is also the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, presided over an extended meeting of the Security Council. The meeting focused on reviewing the results of the Armed Forces and military-administrative sectors in 2023 and setting goals for the near future. The event was attended by heads of ministries and agencies, district commanders, and representatives of public organizations. The President evaluated the progress made in strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and developing the Armed Forces, and gave specific instructions to responsible individuals. Discussions were also held on improving the system of patriotic education for military personnel and youth, as well as enhancing the country’s defense power and efficiency of the military-administrative sectors and defense-industrial complex. The President emphasized the importance of involving young people in the country’s reforms and creating opportunities for them to contribute their skills and talents. The meeting also addressed the need for information and cyber security, digitalization of the Armed Forces, and improving the state border security system. The President highlighted the importance of social support and care for military personnel and their families. The meeting concluded with the President congratulating the military personnel and the people of Uzbekistan on the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces and the Defenders of Motherland Day.
