The number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan for tourism purposes has increased

According to the Committee for Tourism Development, in the period of January-September, 5.7 million foreign citizens traveled to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes. This represents a 16.33 percent growth compared to the previous year, with a total of 4.9 million visitors. In the same period of 2020 and 2021, the number of tourists was 1.4 million and 1.1 million, respectively.
To boost tourism in Uzbekistan and attract more visitors, the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 28 foreign countries have received allocated funds. Additionally, entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan have participated in 14 international tourism fairs this year, showcasing the country’s tourism potential. The Tourism Development Committee has also organized cultural events in the UK, Malaysia, and Tajikistan to promote Uzbekistan’s gastronomic tourism opportunities.
