The International Conference on “Prospects for the Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy in the Sustainable Development of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation: International and National Experience” has commenced in Samarkand. Representatives and experts from OIC member countries, as well as Central and South Asia, Russia, the Middle East, the European Union, the United States, the IAEA, WNA, and other international organizations are in attendance. The President’s Press Secretary, Sherzod Asadov, read out a message of congratulations from the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the conference participants. The Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, also gave a speech at the opening ceremony, highlighting the conference as an important platform for discussing current issues and sharing knowledge on the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The conference will cover topics such as legislative and institutional regulation, safety, and the application of nuclear technologies in various fields.
