According to MIIT, Minister Laziz Kudratov emphasized the significance of strengthening interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in order to achieve the target set by the leaders of both countries – increasing trade turnover to $30 billion.

Russia is a crucial trade and economic partner for Uzbekistan. In the past seven years, trade turnover between the two countries has grown by 2.5 times, reaching nearly $10 billion by the end of 2023. The noteworthy change is the improvement in the quality of mutual supplies, largely due to high-value products.

Some of the priority areas for enhancing the partnership include establishing new joint industrial zones to deepen industrial cooperation, developing joint financing mechanisms, promoting tourism, and expanding collaboration in agriculture, culture, and humanitarian fields.

The minister urged representatives of Russian regions and businesses to take advantage of the excellent opportunities available in Uzbekistan to successfully implement new mutually beneficial projects and initiatives.
