The Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Head of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Uzbekistan, Andrin Fink, held discussions on the advancement of IT education in Uzbekistan, the expansion of international partnerships, and the implementation of new initiatives.
During the initial phase of the project, an assessment will be conducted on the digital skills of the population, identification of new professions that align with market demands, and the development of a platform that integrates IT educational resources.
This is the main focus of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Swiss Embassy in Uzbekistan, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and the IT Education Association under the project “Digital Education Landscape in Uzbekistan: Connecting Stakeholders for Inclusive Growth.”
The project aims to enhance digital literacy among youth and provide professional development and employment opportunities for young people and women in rural areas.
The project involves extensive research and adaptation of educational and specialized training programs, taking into account the needs of the growing industry.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation has granted 2 billion UZS to Uzbekistan for this purpose.
The project will also analyze gaps in IT literacy and skills in different regions, targeting young people, rural residents, women and girls, low-income families, and individuals with disabilities.
