For several years, USAID has been working with the government of Uzbekistan in various sectors. This collaboration is carried out through projects in different economic fields.
One of these initiatives is the USAID Business Support Project (BSP). Through the BSP, USAID offers significant support to small and medium-sized businesses in Uzbekistan, creating opportunities for their growth and access to international markets.
Most recently, the 9th International Exhibition “Textile and Fashion Industry – UzTextileExpo Autumn 2024” was held in Tashkent, featuring 20 textile and sewing companies. This event takes place twice a year and includes both local producers and foreign companies from Türkiye, China, India, Russia, and Belarus.
“This year, we were able to participate in this international exhibition with our brand. Previously, we did not have the chance to take part in such prestigious events. Thanks to the USAID Business Support Project, we were able to seize this opportunity. The exhibition served as a platform for us to network, communicate, and establish partnerships. We reached agreements with companies from Luxembourg and Pakistan. I would like to express my gratitude to the USAID team for allowing us to participate in this important event and for their contribution to the development of women-owned businesses,” said Kamola Aliyeva, Founder of Urban Style LLC.
At the exhibition, 20 companies showcased their products under well-known brands such as EcoStar, Limax Gold, Haj Tex, Beknur, Colibri Textile, Unity, and Look at Me.
As part of this project, representatives from local enterprises not only had the opportunity to participate in the exhibition, but also to effectively showcase their products, negotiate with international partners, and attend special training sessions on promoting brands at a global level.
“Through the training, I gained more knowledge about USAID projects. This event was beneficial for producers in every aspect. Additionally, we had the chance to present our products, find partners, and communicate during the three-day exhibition. I would like to stay updated on all the ideas and proposals promoted by this organization in the future,” said Yulduz Rasul-zade, founder of Colibri Textile.
The Business Support Project has been advantageous for local enterprises in every way. It will serve as a strong foundation for their long-term and sustainable growth.
