The Ambassador of Russia has finished his diplomatic assignment in Uzbekistan, according to a report from the Uzbekistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Uzbekistan, met with Oleg Malginov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, to discuss the current state and future prospects of the relationship between the two countries. They highlighted the strong strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, and also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. Malginov has been the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Tashkent since March 5, 2021, and previously held the position of Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
