The Ministry of Preschool and School Education organized an international scientific-practical conference on “Career guidance: the key to sustainable development” in Tashkent. The event was attended by international experts, including specialists from the UNICEF Representative Office in Uzbekistan, both online and offline. The conference aimed to provide professional orientation for preschool and general education students, promote sustainable socio-economic growth by identifying and developing their career paths in line with the demands of the modern labor market, introduce international best practices, and enhance the training of school psychologists. Various topics were discussed during the conference, such as the role of vocational education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the exchange of innovative and digital technologies in vocational education, the development of a personnel training system based on labor market analysis and forecasting, and psychological, pedagogical, and social approaches to career guidance. Experts highlighted the high demand for professions in the agricultural sector, information technology programming, web design, cybersecurity, construction and architecture, tourism and services, and energy in the modern labor market, and emphasized the importance of vocational education in preparing young people for these fields.
