The festival of national handicrafts “Suzani and embroidery” was held in Navoi, showcasing the traditional values of Uzbekistan. Around 200 individuals involved in folk art participated in the event, displaying handmade carpets, handicrafts, and fine artworks. Discussions were also held on the development of national handicrafts in Uzbekistan, preserving its secrets, and passing down the skills to younger generations. Embroidery, known for its elegance, vibrant colors, and diverse patterns, is a prominent form of national craft. The Nurata embroidery is renowned for its unique style and design, with some pieces dating back 100-200 years. The festival also featured performances by folklore groups, singing traditional songs and lapars. Outstanding participants were recognized and awarded in categories such as “Best embroiderer,” “Master of the best embroidery school,” “Reviver of ancient traditions,” and “Youngest skilled embroiderers.” Diplomas and valuable gifts were presented by the organizers.
