An international event has commenced at the University of Helsinki in Finland with the aim of enhancing the work and knowledge-sharing among the Ombudsmen of Central Asian countries. The event, organized in partnership with the Center for the Rule of Law at the University of Helsinki and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, is being attended by Feruza Eshmatova, the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman). Representatives from the Offices of the Commissioners for Human Rights of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan are also participating in the event. The primary objective of this event, scheduled for April 15-19, is to foster international cooperation between the Ombudsmen of Finland and Central Asian countries in the field of human rights, exchange knowledge on contemporary mechanisms for safeguarding human rights, and facilitate discussions on current issues. As part of the visit to Finland, there are plans to hold various international meetings and gain insights into the operations of penitentiary institutions. N. Abduraimova, UzA
