“Sharq Taronalari” – Oriental Tale of Samarkand

The 13th International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari” will take place in Samarkand from August 25-30. This festival is one of the largest in Central Asia and aims to promote national musical art, preserve and develop musical culture and traditions, support talented youth in music and singing, expand international creative connections, and promote ideas of peace, friendship, and mutual tolerance. The first festival was held in 1997 with participants from 31 countries, and the 12th festival in 2019 had 75 participating countries. The 13th festival has invited more than 100 countries to participate, including Japan, Indonesia, Poland, the Republic of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Italy, and others. The “Sharq Taronalari” has become a vibrant festival not only in Central Asia but also in the world, as shown by the increasing number of participating countries and the high level of the festival program.
