The second round of matches took place today at the ongoing international ice hockey tournament in Ashgabat.
The main arena of the Winter Sports Complex hosted a Group “A” match between “Bahrain Ice Hockey Club” (Bahrain) and “Ice Box Iran Mall” (Iran) in the second half of the day.
The first period was a tough battle, resulting in a 1:1 draw. However, the Iranian team took control in the following two periods and achieved a significant victory of 8:1 (1:1, 4:0, and 3:0).
Meanwhile, at the small arena of the Winter Sports Complex, a Group “B” match was held between “Aqmola” (Kazakhstan) and “Dordoi” (Kyrgyzstan). The Kyrgyzstan team led the score three times during the match, but the Kazakhstan team turned the game around in the third period and secured a determined 5:3 victory (1:2, 1:0, 3:1).
In earlier matches, “Galkan”, eight-time champion of Turkmenistan, dominated against “Oman Nationals” from Oman with a record score of 15:1 (4:0, 1:0, 10:1). In another match, the Belarusian club “Volat” defeated the Turkish team “Team-Turkiye” with a score of 3:0 (1:0, 0:0, 2:0).
After two rounds, “Galkan” is currently leading Group “A” with 6 points. “Feniks” from Uzbekistan and “Ice Box Iran Mall” from Iran have 3 points each, but have played one less match. “Bahrain Ice Hockey Club” has yet to score any points after two games.
In Group “B”, “Aqmola” from Kazakhstan is in the lead with 6 points after two victories. “ADIHIC-Kazan” from the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia and “Volat” from Belarus have 3 points each, but have played one game. “Team-Turkiye” has no points after two defeats.
The third round, which will take place on April 17, will feature the following matches: in Group “A” – “Galkan” (Turkmenistan) vs. “Ice Box Iran Mall” (Iran), “Feniks” (Uzbekistan) vs. “Bahrain Ice Hockey Club” (Bahrain); in Group “B” – “Volat” (Belarus) vs. “Aqmola” (Kazakhstan), “ADIHIC-Kazan” (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia) vs. “Team-Turkiye” (Turkey).
