October 15 – International Day of Rural Women

Qizlargul Jumaniyazova, a resident of Nayman village in Takhiatash district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, has been a hardworking woman in the agricultural sector for nearly half a century. She is the head of the “Sanobar Saparboyeva” farm, which has an impressive 52 hectares of land. Cotton is cultivated on 32 hectares, grain is grown on 10 hectares, vegetables and melons on 7 hectares, an orchard occupying one hectare, and a mulberry grove taking up 4 hectares.

The farm is among the first to meet the state’s obligations to deliver cotton, grain, and silkworm cocoons. In particular, the farm has supplied 300 kilograms of cocoons and 28 tons of grain this year and exceeded the contracted plan by more than 100 percent. The plan for delivering cotton to the state is also expected to be exceeded in the coming days.

Qizlargul Jumaniyazova’s tireless work in farming has earned her a deserved recognition from the state. In 1999, she was honored with the “Dustlik” (Friendship) Order. In 2008, she was bestowed with the honorary title “Honored Cotton Grower of the Republic of Karakalpakstan”. In 2021, she was awarded the badge “Mutabar Ayol” (“Women of Reverence”).
