At the summit of CIS heads of state in Bishkek, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan confirmed his backing for the idea of creating a Global Security Strategy, which was first put forward at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September. The president emphasized the need for prioritizing peace, security, and stability in the global arena in light of the current international situation.
Berdimuhamedov pointed out that the Strategy should include three main elements: preventive diplomacy as a means of preventing and resolving conflicts, the utilization of positive neutrality as a political and legal concept, and the reestablishment of a culture of trust-based dialogue as a guarantee of peace. He also expressed his confidence that the development of the Strategy would be a significant step towards fostering mutual understanding and cooperation, as well as accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals.
