On October 14, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Tashkent to observe the progress on the city’s new infrastructure facilities and the preparations for the autumn/winter season. As the capital’s population and area have grown, its infrastructure capabilities have also been expanding.

At the Pakhtakor stadium in Shaykhantakhur district, a substation was constructed with 19 kilometers of cable and two transformers. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in the upcoming month and will supply an additional 130 megawatts to the city center. This will reduce the load on other substations and cut the risk of power outages by 60 percent.

The President was presented with a briefing on the building and modernization of Tashkent’s power supply system. Five substations are currently under construction and four are being upgraded, which will bring the total capacity to 850 megawatts.
