In 2024, more than 10 major international companies have opened representative offices in Uzbekistan, according to Dilnoza Sobirova, Head of the National Agency of Perspective Projects Press Service. This has resulted in a tax revenue of over 160 billion UZS for the state budget and a 55 percent increase in self-employed individuals in the e-commerce sector. To further develop and regulate e-commerce, the Agency has drafted a resolution titled “On measures for the further development of e-commerce in the Republic of Uzbekistan”. Amendments have been made to the Tax Code, as well as the laws “On e-commerce” and “On licensing, permitting, and notification procedures”.
