Acting Minister of Health Asilbek Khudoyorov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar. During the meeting, the two parties discussed the outcomes of their medical collaboration and future plans. It was acknowledged that Türkiye is a close ally and dependable partner for Uzbekistan.

Collaborative initiatives between the health ministries of both countries include the construction of medical facilities, advancements in medical education and management, and training of skilled personnel. Notably, the medical faculty for nursing at the Bukhara State Medical Institute operates with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). TİKA also provides assistance in organizing mobile medical examinations and complex surgeries, as well as equipping maternity hospitals in various regions of Uzbekistan.

Mr. Khudoyorov emphasized the upcoming implementation of a health insurance system and improvements in the quality of medical services and pharmaceutical industry, with the involvement of leading Turkish experts. The issue of medicine registration was also addressed during the meeting.
