On 11 October 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan held a meeting with President Vahagn Khachaturyan of the Republic of Armenia, who was on a working visit to Turkmenistan.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to his Armenian counterpart for accepting the invitation to attend the international forum “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development”, held in honor of the anniversary of poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
The President of Armenia acknowledged the significance of this event in strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, and praised the high level of organization of the forum.
The two leaders discussed various areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, economy, transportation, communication, agriculture, and tourism. They also highlighted the important role of the Intergovernmental Commission in promoting and implementing agreements between the two countries.
The meeting also involved an exchange of views on the priority areas of the rapidly growing Turkmen-Armenian partnership. The two countries have successfully collaborated in both bilateral and multilateral formats, and have supported each other within reputable international organizations.
As a gesture of appreciation, President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi, translated into Armenian, to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In conclusion, both leaders wished each other well and expressed confidence in the continued successful development of interstate cooperation, based on the principles of good-neighbourliness, friendship, and brotherhood, for the benefit of their respective peoples.
