Meeting at the Supreme Court

The Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shukhrat Polvonov, held a meeting with Yevgeny Kozyak, the head of the headquarters of the CIS Executive Committee Mission, and Marina Afonina, a member of the Staff. At the meeting, the guests were briefed on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s judicial-legal system. The discussions focused on strengthening the legislative framework, improving the efficiency and structure of the judicial system, and promoting transparency and openness in the courts. The primary goal of these reforms is to ensure the independence of the courts, protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, and enhance justice. Additionally, information was provided on the country’s electoral legislation, with a particular focus on the process for reviewing complaints against election commission decisions. The legislation also addresses administrative and criminal responsibility for offenses related to the organization and conduct of elections. The parties also exchanged views on various other topics.
