London recently hosted a business forum focused on the investment and trade potential of Uzbekistan.

The event brought together over 120 representatives from top British companies, including Shell, BP, Glencore, JCB, Lloyd’s, HSBC, AstraZeneca, and others.

The forum presented key measures to support Uzbekistan’s economic development, opportunities for foreign investors, and guarantees for their legal protection. Specific investment projects in renewable energy, chemistry, metallurgy, electrical engineering, and pharmaceuticals were also highlighted.

In his address, Nodir Sidikov, a partner at the renowned international law firm Fieldfisher, emphasized Uzbekistan’s policy of openness and socio-economic reforms, such as preferential tax and customs systems, which are creating favorable conditions and opening up new prospects for foreign investors.

Rob Grinnell, a representative from Export Certification Limited, noted the growing interest of British businesses in Uzbekistan. Thanks to reforms in this area, Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly attractive platform for British companies looking to expand into new markets.

The forum also included bilateral meetings and negotiations on specific investment and infrastructure projects. Participants expressed their intention to attend the next meeting of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (UBTIC) in Tashkent in November of next year.
