On September 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the ongoing construction of Tashkent East Airport.
The development of transportation infrastructure in Uzbekistan is continuously advancing. New roads and bridges are being constructed, improving travel comfort. Recent updates and openings include airports in Samarkand, Termez, Muynak, Zaamin, Kokand, and Urgench. Tashkent East Airport has also undergone reconstruction in recent years.
A 4-kilometer runway has been built on the airport’s grounds, capable of accommodating large aircraft. Currently, the construction of two terminals, an apron, and hangars for high-profile guests and business aviation is underway. The airport will be equipped with modern radio-technical and meteorological equipment of the ICAO III-A category, ensuring safe takeoff and landing even in adverse weather conditions.
The design of the terminals, both externally and internally, was also presented during the inspection. The President emphasized the importance of incorporating national styles and warm colors in the buildings’ facades and decorations. He also stressed the need to consider all necessary amenities for receiving high-profile guests and hosting meetings.
The airport is located near the New Uzbekistan Park and the Olympic Village. Instructions were given to beautify these areas and the surrounding roadsides by planting flowers and incorporating decorative elements that reflect the country’s rich culture.
