The first-ever UNDP Talks, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uzbekistan, showcased inspiring stories of individuals who have improved their lives through innovative initiatives for reducing poverty and improving livelihoods. The event brought together various stakeholders such as government officials, development partners, private sector representatives, and media. UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, Ms. Akiko Fujii, stressed the importance of prioritizing people in development efforts. The event also marked UNDP’s 60th anniversary and highlighted the need to scale up successful solutions and ensure their reach to more communities in Uzbekistan. This event is the first of a series that aims to share best practices and solutions for poverty reduction, livelihoods, and inclusive development. It also called for stronger partnerships between the government, donors, private sector, and civil society to collaborate and build on successful approaches.
