On Friday, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. revealed its third-quarter net profit of 182.9 billion won (US$135.1 million), a decrease of 22.1 percent from the same period in the prior year.
The company revealed in a regulatory filing that its operating income for the three-month period from July to September grew 59.7 percent year-on-year to 245.5 billion won, while its revenue surged 40.3 percent to 7.62 trillion won.
The earnings surpassed market expectations. According to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency, analysts had predicted an average net profit of 139.4 billion won.
