High-level talks between Uzbekistan and UNDP on supporting Afghanistan

A discussion took place between Ismatulla Irgashev, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, and Akiko Fujii, the UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, according to a report from the Uzbekistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main topics of the meeting included the current situation in Afghanistan, international efforts to prevent a humanitarian crisis, and the potential use of the transport hub in Termez for delivering aid to Afghanistan. The two parties also addressed the continuation of a joint project to train Afghan citizens at the Educational Center in Surkhandarya region. Both Irgashev and Fujii stressed the importance of ongoing coordination between Uzbekistan and UN institutions in finding a peaceful solution to the Afghan problem. UzA was also mentioned as a participant in the talks.
