High-level Meeting between Top Think Tanks from Uzbekistan and Japan Focuses on Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

The University of Tsukuba hosted an international roundtable discussion on “Joint promotion of knowledge and innovation within the framework of the dialogue “Central Asia plus Japan”.

The event was attended by leaders and representatives from expert-analytical and scientific-academic institutes in Japan and Uzbekistan.

The Japanese side was represented by leaders and experts from the University of Tsukuba, the Nippon Foundation, and the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences. Meanwhile, the Uzbek side was represented by leaders and representatives from various institutions such as the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS), and the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations.

The participants engaged in discussions about the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, and innovation. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration between the scientific and research communities of both countries.

In his remarks, ISRS Deputy Director B. Mustafayev emphasized the significance of establishing the Uzbekistan – Japan Expert Council and conducting joint research on important issues of mutual interest.
