The visit of the Uzbekistan President to Malaysia on February 4-5, at the invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, further strengthened the long-standing friendship between the two countries and elevated collaboration in various fields to a higher level. During the visit, an Education Forum, business meetings, tourism exhibitions, and other events were held, leading to the signing of mutually beneficial agreements between Termez State University, Kedah Agro Holdings, and Menteri Besar Incorporated. As a first step, $10 million will be invested in a project focused on utilizing scientific methods to develop agriculture and aquaculture in the Surkhandarya region. A delegation from Kedah Agro Holdings is also scheduled to visit the region in April to assess its potential for further cooperation in different areas. The Termez State University has announced plans to expand cooperation and develop joint educational programs with Universiti Utara Malaysia, with 30 students set to participate in UUM’s winter school program. Last year, four professors from Termez State University visited Malaysia to study the academic processes and methodologies of the country’s top universities, explore strategies for international rankings, and attend a professional development program. Under the new agreement, education in Surkhandarya region will be based on the curriculum of a foreign university for the first time, allowing students to receive degrees from both Termez State University and Universiti Utara Malaysia.
